Critical Habitat Health
Rate your response to the following question, and your level of certainty, using the indicators below and the methods to the left.
How abundant and healthy are critical habitats that the fishery species depend on, relative to a historic baseline?
Habitat productivity, connectivity, habitat loss, invasive species, major structural changes or changes to the upstream watershed
Is this a productive area? Do the main habitat/ structure forming species (i.e. mangroves, reefs, etc.) go from seedling/ spore/ baby to fully grown within: 1 year, 1-5 years, 5 to 10 years, more than 10 years?
Key habitats are healthy and abundant.
Evidence of loss and/or degradation of key habitats such that ecological function, especially supporting stock productivity, is compromised but not lost.
Check with the management authority or scientific body for existing assessments
Habitat loss & degradation is severe.
